Fires Creek picnic area and hiking trails are a haven for many people who visit (or live in!) the mountains of Western North Carolina. The area features a creek that runs right through the woods in the foothills, and from this the area takes its name (all except the Fires part… ;)).

This beautiful and peaceful place is equipped with many eating areas located at comfortable distances from each other, making it a great place to go — even if there are several others who have also decided to come out and enjoy God’s creation!

There are several hiking trails nearby that work well for beginners as well as those who are more experienced in their hiking skills. Perhaps the most famous would be the Rim Trail. This trail is a loop measuring nearly twenty-five miles, and is rated “difficult.”

And now for the best part: Fires Creek is in Haysville, NC – only an estimated 20 minutes drive from Peachtree Cove RV Park. It really can’t get much better than that, can it? We as a family have greatly enjoyed many holidays and outings out at the creek, picnic areas, and trails. We know from experience: Fires Creek is a wonderful place for your family to just be! You won’t want your blue-light devices out here – there is far too much natural beauty to enjoy. And better yet: the fall season is right around the corner, so the leaves in the mountains will be turning to varied shades of gold, orange, yellow, red, and garnet, contributing a wealth of autumn splendor to the already-pleasing atmosphere. Fires Creek is calling; What are you waiting for?
